Frost Lance FTW Mage Video up!

February 23, 2012 Leave a comment

World of Warcraft Frost Mage – Ice Lance FTW

Well, the first official video is now up on the YouTube channel! I really enjoyed making this video from the actual arena matches all the way to the editing. It was a lot of fun and thats probably what encourages me the most to keep going forward.

Now, I said I also was releasing a V-log explaining more in depth about Kronedog Productions and that should be up sometime tomorrow. I have more Mage videos on there way including another music video style video and some commentary as well.

The website is still in the works. I’ve yet to purchase the domain name/hosting due to personal reasons but on the flip side, I’m working on all the content daily so when the time is right for the site to go up, the content will follow closely. I’ll mention more in detail about everything website related in the V-log so if you’re interested, make sure you check that out!

Once again, thanks to everyone who has shown me encouragement and positive feedback!

Kronedog Productions on the way!

Kronedog Productions

What is Kronedog Productions?

Kronedog Productions is something I came up with about a year ago but never went through with. When I orignally started this blog, it was a Warcraft blog but over time I strayed away from the gaming stuff into other areas I found interesting such as photography, writing about life topics and ways to better yourself. I then took another heavy influence and created The Ghost Den which lasted about a month unfortunately. Throughout the entire time of being away from the “gaming community” I felt lost in many ways venturing out into different themes and ideas.

I did a lot of brainstorming and collected my thoughts together to find the “constants” I love in life. It came out like this:

  1. Video Games
  2. Guitar / Music
  3. Writing
  4. The paranormal world
  5. Working out

Moving Forward

So with that being said, it’s time to go through with the original plan which was to share my love of video games with the world in a variety of ways. I’ve been playing games since I was very young and I’ve never really stopped playing them. This is what I’m going to be providing:

  • Gaming guides / tutorials
  • Up to date gaming news!
  • In-depth game reviews
  • Live streams ranging from Starcraft 2, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, MW3, and new releases!
  • Music Video gaming collaborations

So with a little patience, Kronedog Productions will be here soon. I’ll be posting a V-log soon on YouTube explaining in better detail of what I’m currently working on. My channel can be found at www.youtube.com/thekronedog

Thanks again to everyone that has continued to positively encourage me to do what I love to do most. This blog won’t be ending due to everything I’ve stated above but I’ll definitely be changing some things up.

Gamer’s Edge: Leveling in WoW 1-58

Gamer’s Edge

Leveling in World of Warcraft 1-58 (Classic WoW)

Gamer’s Edge is a weekly article where the discussion is always game related ranging from reviews, upcoming news in the gaming world, tips/tutorials, and more.

Overview

Leveling in any MMO can be a pain. Getting through that “grind” can be quite boring, especially if you’re like me and done a lot of alt leveling. When I level an alt in World of Warcraft, I usually get bored and say screw it around lvl 70 ish and hop back on the main. How does one keep the motivation to keep leveling to get to the actual “game” at cap level. I’ve recently rolled a Mage for a few reasons. One being I wanted to share this leveling guide and felt to give the best tips, I’d have to go through it myself and that’s exactly what I’m doing. Today we’ll be discussing leveling from 1-58 as fast as possible so here we go.

Before you even start

Before you roll that fresh level 1, make sure it’s a class you’ll stick with from beginning to end. Know what your goals are before starting, this way you’ll have something to focus on the way to 85. One other thing I highly recommend is farming yourself a full set of BoA’s! Do this! Otherwise leveling is going to be that much rougher. On top of that, join a guild with the 10% leveling bonus so you’re maxed on the xp bonuses.

Levels 1-10

Getting to level 10 should only take approximately one hour. Not much to say except do those quests! You can’t que for dungeons or BG’s so your best bet is to constantly do one quest after another. If you pick up 5 quests in lets say Goldshire, go out and do all those quests, return, turn them in, receive XP, rinse and repeat. Make sure you’re always doing something for xp. Sitting around in Stormwind trolling trade chat isn’t going to be very helpful.

Levels 10-15

At level ten, we are given the option to que for BG’s. If you’re trying to level as fast as possible, I don’t recommend farming BG’s at this level. Questing is still your best friend at this time, so keep trucking on. Remember to keep checking your capital city’s quest board (Horde’s is in Valley of Strength and Alliance’s is in Trade District.) By doing this, you can assure yourself you’re questing at your proper level. I say this because, with a full set of BoA’s, you WILL out level zones very quickly.

Levels 15-58

Achieving level 15 is your goal from the get go. The reason behind this is obvious, you can now use the dungeon finder tool! This is what you’ll be using from now until level 80 for the majority of the time. Some people say, questing is faster, but I say running dungeons is faster. I say this because, while yes questing can give great xp, you’ll find yourself running around zones either trying to get to the quest, or returning to the quest giver to turn it in. A lot of time can be wasted running back and forth. Also keep in mind, you have no flying mount so many obstacles will get in your way.

I’m not saying, don’t quest, because I certainly have been doing my fair share of it on the Mage. Here’s how it works if you’re DPS:

  1. Que for Dungeon
  2. While in que, run quests
  3. Dungeon que pops, accept and run instance (almost every dungeon has specific quests inside the instance now.)
  4. Complete dungeon and quests, turn in quests.
  5. Rinse & Repeat

It’s honestly that easy. You can do the same if you’re a healer, but from personal experience I’ve found it more useful to just que up as a healer since they have rather fast que times.

If you’re a tank, SPAM DUNGEONS! Tanks get instant ques, so take advantage of this. As a tank, you will level faster than others because of this. Of course, if you get bored of constantly running the same dungeons over and over, feel free to give yourself a break and go do some questing. Then when you’re ready, get back to it!

If you honestly want that toon to 85, he/she will get there in due time. It all comes down to how seriously you take it. Sure it can be fun to dilly dally around, run some low lvl BG’s but just remember, it will be much more enjoyable at cap level.

Well that’s my two cents on leveling. I will be posting the next article once my Mage gets through Outland (58-68) which should be a few days. From there I’ll be continuing with an Outland, Northrend, and Cataclysm guide to finish it off.

The Necrotic Plague: What set to Transmog into?

 The Necrotic Plague

What set to Transmog into?

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Kronedog brings you The Necrotic Plague where the focus is Death Knight’s in current content. Always bringing you the latest DK updates, tips, and other DK related topics.

If you’re like me then you’re also having a hard time finding what set to Transmog your Death Knight into. Or, you already found that perfect set. When Transmogrification was initially announced I started going for the purple Judgement set but now I’ve said, hey… no. I’m a DK not a Paladin. So as of late I’ve been trying to decide on which set to go for. With that, I’m also curious as to what set others like the most.

Below I’ve created a poll. Vote on your favorite Tier set and next week I’ll post the winning set here and talk about how to get every single piece of that set in the easiest way possible.

The Sets

Tier 7

Tier 8

Tier 9

Tier 10

Tier 11

Tier 12

Tier 13

So there you have, all of the DeathKnight tier sets. I purposely left out the PVP sets because they’re not exactly hard to get and usually the tier sets look cooler. Until next time.

Upcoming Changes

December 10, 2011 2 comments

So normally around this time I’d be writing the latest Necrotic Plague but tonight’s a little different. I’m not slacking or anything but I honestly have a lot of work to do with the website itself. I’m also changing the schedule up a bit. Not only that, but the series is getting a name change to “Gladiator’s Desecration.”

First most, I’d like to inform everyone that I will no longer be posting Gladiator’s Desecration 3 times a week, and is now going to be a weekly article. To compensate, I’m adding in new articles series. Since I’m a lore geek , the newest series is going to be a Warcraft Lore archive. Every week I’ll be talking about different key characters from all of the lore. I can promise that it will be an interesting addition to the blog. On top of that, I’ve already started working on the Death Knight PVP guide which is one of the reasons things have been a bit behind schedule as of late.

One other reason for the changes is I need more time to work on other projects such as my YouTube channel which should be getting underway very soon. It’s also going to add more variety here at the Kronedog blog.

The New Schedule

  • Gladiator’s Desecration (Death Knight blog series) – Monday night
  • The Kronedog Report (podcast) – Tuesday night
  • From what I’ve Gathered (whats happened in WoW the past week) – Saturday morning
  • Enlighten Me (random non WoW related blogs) – Sunday night
*Weekly YouTube video’s coming soon
So as you can see, lots of good content coming your way as well as a couple guest writer articles coming later this month 😀 Thanks for reading and following the blog, now it’s time to go watch some Ghost Adventures, and hopefully some Shadowcleave later on the DK.
